I'll take one or both of the canister filters. Have to research the design of each. Got any pics?

Kevin,
Let me check with "crisis christine" when she gets off work about your skimmer you have for sale. She has a hob coralife skimmer...do you think this would be an upgrade for her? She doesn't have a sump. I was thinking that she could use both HOB skimmers at the same time. What do you think?

Kevin,
Which of the canister filters would you recommend? I'm looking for something easy to use and clean. Both designs look fine. Is the Filstar in better shape than the fluval?

Ken - To your question, the Filstar is a much better canister filter. It has a much better design - I had to replace parts on the Fluval several times due to poor design. The Fluval is not available anymore regardless b/c I wound up throwing it away -- it was in pretty poor shape. Here is a link to info on the Filstar (the one I have is the XP2)...

Linda - The Remora is a good HOB skimmer and gets decent reviews. I don't believe it is anywhere close to what you get from an in-sump skimmer though. I would think you could use it in conjunction with the Coralife -- it has a surface skimmer that seems to work pretty well. It kept the surface of my water clean.

Let me know if you are interested.

Kevin
