Hi all,

Thought I would share some zoanthid pics from my tank.

Thanks for looking,
Jay

radier 77,

It is a Protopalythoa of some sort. It is non-mat forming and incorporates sediment. When I got the orginal frag it was a solid silvery teal in color, but under my lights it turned pink and developed the two teal cresents around the center.

AngieN,

Thanks. Those are one of my favorites (well they are all one of my favorites, but that is another story). When I got the original frag they were just barely specled with yellow in the center and the tenticles were much duller. But shortly after going in the tank ( and directly under my halides) they started to really color up. Now they are one of the first things to catch your eye when you look at the tank.

You know you don't get nearly the polyp expansion with halides, but you can't beat the coloration.

itz frank,

Its no so much that I am a fan, it just that some of my favorites are orange and they are the easiest to photoraph in my tank. The ones in the first and third pics are much more red then they appear in the photos. Thought the one in the third pic does have orange mouths. Also nice oranges seem to be much easier to come by here localy, so it has taken a while for me to get a good selection of other colors.

Maybe subconciously it is alumni/employer (UF) thing though. Maybe I am so used to seeing orange and bule every where, that when I am in the fish store the only zoas that look nice to me are orange. LOL
