Someone was bound to ask.

Ok, so the cold weather is here. Along with the cold weather comes the very dry, cracked hands.
So should we be carefull which hand lotion we use? Since it is suppose to soak into the skin. Would lotion effect the tank? Is there one lotion better, safer to use than others. Sometimes lotion doesn't wash off that easily. Thus the reasone for using it.
Silly question I know, but someone had to ask.

Is that stuff really any good. Working with cardboard, really drys mine up. (believe it or not). That will start to crack and bleed if I don't keep them loaded down with something. But haven't found anything that really work well.

i use corn huskers lotion. i work on cars all day and wash my hand about 10 to 15 times a day with harsh soap. it works pretty good. if your hands are real dry and cracked real bad corn huskers burns pretty bad wene you put it on though.
i keep a bottle in my tool box at work.

but i do not know about the tank. i would think once it soaked in you would be fine.

Putting your hands in the tank will actually help dry your skin out more. If your hands crack that bad and you need to get your hands wet that much consider putting gloves on - tight fitting medical gloves are the best. If water is getting in, you can create a seal with a rubber band (short times only- no dead hands please!). The idea is to keep your hands dry in the gloves - different than what most people think when you talk about gloves and aquariums.

Here is the best thing for dry and cracked hands. Go to walgreens or walmart and get the lotion that is made specifically for cracking heels on the feet. This is a common problem and the ointments work fantastic as they put back into the skin the moisture they lost.

If your worried about the tank, wash hands before putting them in tank, then re-lotion when you are done with the tank. That is what I do.
