Something freaky happening!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody!
Tonight we did a water change in the tank and about 30 minutes later when we started to feed the fish something really freaky started happening. I started seeing pink milky stuff being shot up from different areas of the rock work, then white milky stuff started coming from different areas. This went on for I know about 15 to 20 minutes.

Does anyone know what was going on, my first toughts were that something was spawning, but what and why 2 differnet colors?

Sometimes one spawning event will trigger another. Alternately, one could be the male spawn and the other female.

Sometimes one spawning event will trigger another.

This is quite true in fresh water aquariums. When several breeding tanks are connected to the same system via a common sump, it can result in a mass spawning event. To come to think of it, corals spawn simultaneously in nature...

Mass spawnings improve the odds of larvae surviving. I have seen fish mating dances get the other fish riled up, although it can't hold out long when they are all on different schedules.

Don't you still have my Wittenrich book, Tomoko?
