Something funky going on with new emerald crab

A few days ago we go a emerald green crab. On day 2 it went to the corner of the tank and just sat there in the gravel and hasn't moved since.

Now here is the funky part"¦checked on it today and its covered in what looks like spider web?

Is it dying and if so why do you think this would happen?

lol it def sound like a molt to me pick it up if it fall apart it's a molt if guts spill out its dead, odds are its a molt and will hide for about a week as the new she'll hardens

Hopefully it's a molt, but seeing as you just got it the crab would be unlikely to molt already.

no a lot of shrimps and crabs molt when you first add them to a new tank. just go pick it up, crabs will run away when they see your hand coming
