i found this thing on the beach about 2 months ago ... i can't send you a pic but i'll try my best to describe it to you ... it looks like a human brain and it is soft like a sponge... i thought it was just a dead sponge so i put it in with the shells i was collecting and went on... when i got home i noticed ,to my suprise it was moving like it was trying to breath... don't know what it is but i felt bad for it and put it in the 130 gal tank... it moves through the water by taking in water and spitting it out ... when it finds where it wants to be it digs into the crushed coral and stays there for a while... it's alive but i have no idea what it is ... can you help me... please:confused:

I'd really be careful putting stuff in your tank because you feel sorry for it. It's probably a sea cucumber of some sort... or a sea apple. Looks for pics of those ands see if it's one. Some sea cuc's will nuke your tank pretty quick if they get a chance.

I was wondering (as were most others on this board) where I left my brain last time I was in Florida. :D

I agree it may be a cuke but a picture sure would help.

ok... thanks ...so far everthing is still living and healthy ... hasn't killed anything yet... i'm really new to this as you can tell... i'll be more careful from now on... right now i have about assorted damsels ,a fuzzy dwarf lion, an assortment of crabs, 2 types of shrimp, 3 anemones, and a starfish. i had a cucumber but it moved to slo and i guess my crabs found it ... just learning...

it is white , and it looks like... a brain, it has small crevices that have red in them, it looks lie something from dr frankenstien's lab. lol...

I'm almost starting to wonder if it is a brain coral but if it is moving about then it can't be.
