Something in my tank.

I have something in my tank and I can't figure out what it is. It lives in a huge piece of holey rock and has excavated quite a bit under it. I have never seen what it is but it has pushed a lot of sand out and I have seen it flying.

As I look under the rock I see a scene of carnage, lots of Emerald Crab shells. It also ate my Pepermint and Fire Shrimp. I have lost some fish but at this time the only evidence I have is strictly lightly scavanged, can't say that it actually killed them.

This is really all I have to go on at this time but any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated. I have not seen it at all.

I am going to own a Mantis here in the near future but this not how I imagined it. :lol:

Sounds like a pistol shrimp.

dunno, that sounds like it could be a mantis....... just watch for it, it will come out sooner or later

Doesnt sound like a pistol at all, I definitly agree with sandlot13 that there is a good chance its a mantis. If you stare at the hole long enough Im sure you will see it look out eventually, especially if you feed the tank first.

well would a mantis be eating the crabs and fish? i thought it was either one or another
