something laid eggs...

I am trying to get a pic into my post, but I do have a pic in my gallery of an egg mass I found on a rock on my tank this morning. Basically it looks like a mass of really thin spaghetti about 2-3" across. I am suspecting it was from a snail, I have some Turbo, Astrea, and Nassarius snails and also a large sea hare. Does this sound like a mass of snail eggs to anyone?

Hopefully this link works:

Freaky man !!! No clue what it is but had to rubberneck the thread :P

Yeah, something had a lot of fun last night :D tis the season I guess

you can rule out Nassarius snails, as they tend to lay their eggs on the glass in a fairly neat pattern, looks kinda like a fan shape, or several little sacks, not a mass of spaghetti. I'm thinking sea hare, but i've been wrong before.

I think it's the sea hare too, if they're egg layers. Haven't seen snail eggs like that. Let us know if you get little sea hare babies.

I have done some more research online and they certainly appear to be sea hare (Aplysia) eggs. Unfortunately, I think their veliger stage is too long and the larvae will probably get filtered out or eaten... sea hare progeny would be neat though!
