My red digi has been getting these little white spots all over it and I have a reverse pokerstar monti that is completely bleached out (I got it that way but it still hasnt colored up and is now getting algae growth but still polyps out fine. I dipped both of them in Coral Rx but all that came off was some pods and these little round guys that look kind of like tiny chitons but move real fast like horseshoe crabs. They have no tails but I think they must have a bunch of legs to move like that. Sorry, no pics of them. My camera isnt that great. Could they be eating my monti's? I didnt find any Nudis but the spots look just like the spots flatworms leave on Acros. Im so confused.:confused::confused:
Here is a pic with the red (orange?) digi in the upper middle covered with white spots

Oh poop. Apparently you are supposed to mix coral rx with saltwater and I used fresh water. So there is another problem I have to deal with. did I just kill my coral?

Most likely not but they sure would be mad, however a freshwater dip might be just the thing to wipe our your unwanted critter.

thats nasty looking bite marks. Is it just the 2 corals or others showing signs? I have a frag of both if u lose them I will get u another. I would dip again in a few days. The fresh water dip probably wont hurt it but it will make them unhappy. The purple confusa looks good in the pic and I believe it is a type of digi as well.

yeah the purple confusa and the rainbow monti are both super happy. Im watching them closely though. Thanks Chris! Hopefully whatever it is dies with a couple of dips and they will come back.

Be careful with sps and fw dips,as they usually kill the corals. If you have monti nudis they are bright white and will be on the skeleton were the tissue is gone. Usually starting at the outside edge or underside of the coral. They lay there eggs on naked skeleton so also look for small brown semi circles that are the eggs. This is why we all must dip our corals so we do not pass these problems around.

I M O it does not look like monti nudis to me. Good luck Scott T
