something strange

as i was looking at the rock , i found something strange to me

it's round shape , its yellow and its very hard and it has like spines
its attach to the rock and beacuse of the position of the rock i asume its non photosyntetic creature

what it is???

Looks like a jewelery box clam, though the sp here in south fl usually have dull spikes. They are small clams, easy to take care of, just feed them any good quality filter feeder food. They are always found under rocks or ledges, but the one I keep is exposed so I can see it.

It's a Chama species, technically an oyster rather than a clam. Here's a little info on them:
