something wrong with my dusters?

so i have a co co worm that i had for about 3 weeks now... it looks like the bottom parts of his crown has been falling off bit by bit...

hard to tell from that image but... the bottom ones are now gone.. anything wrong? im not direct feeding them or adding phytoplancton (sp?)

water parameters are "normal" from my test kit...

and my other hawaiian feather duster

started to grow that red stuff in the tip of it.. when i first go it, it had very little.. but now its so much.. what is that stuff?

Losing the radioles off the branchial crown is all a bad sign. Since you've only had it three weeks it could be the aftermath of shipping & handling, something is picking on it, or not enough food. The red fuzz on the duster is a filamentous red algae. I think it's pretty but you may not, especially if it spreads to other parts of the your tank. since the algae can regrow if you don't get it all off carefully cut off the area of the tube where the algae is attached. The worm can rebuild the tube.

ah so algae.. im guessing its not a bad algae?

it might be a food thing for the co co worm...

It's not a bad algae, in fact it may stay just on the tube but there's a chance that without a natural herbivore in the tank it will spread.
