Something wrong with my tank!!! Help!!

You said you had 3 fish.. Damsels and clownfish? All in a 12g? I'd do MAYBE one clown in a 12g. Have you seen aggression issues? Anybody disappear recently? My guess is somebody was bullying someone... Someone died unnoticed.. Your tank levels went haywire.

Do some water changes and it's really helpful to list *every* single detail about your tank for proper diagnosis.

alright thx for everybody that took the time to give their opinions and helping me with my problem ill try to do a 50% water change and possible change my sand but right now i have a frogspawn and duncan which is still doin ok

You need a bigger tank. 12 gallons doesn't give you much room for error. But if your going to stay with the 12 gallon stop adding anything for a while and try and keep what you have alive.

12g tank = 1 fish 2 MAX if you have about 12lbs live rock AND 12lbs live sand. Agree Hugh water change 50% or more every 3 days for next 2 weeks then leave it alone and let it stabilize.

You wanted some help but you're not helping us help you by not listing in DETAIL what's going on with your tank.

Don't worry, everyone makes mistakes but admitting to them really helps you go a long way in the hobby.

Do some water changes then do some studying. 12g is cute but they're hard to keep stable and your livestock choices are extremely limited.

Changing water will not cause a new cycle..... unless you used chlorinated water and that killed all the bacteria in the live rock.

I would differ. I moved my tank and had to replace almost 80 gallons and sent it into another cycle.

don't do both--don't change your sand bed--I doubt you need to do that--it could stir up more things and if will definetly upset the biological filtration use of it

IMO the water change is a good idea

If you do a huge water change and its still happens you know where to turn trust me its not always about new water...

I would say the cycle was from the moving of the tank and stirring up the sand bed. I have on several occasions had to do large water changes on both fresh and salt water tanks. Each time there was no new cycle.

On two occasions I did 2 90% water changes back to back (2 year old put a hand full of those dish washer tablets into the filter. The water was solid blue you could not see the back of the tank and it was only a 30 gallon tank) After doing the water changes and keeping a close eye on the tank it never recycled. All my levels stayed put and I didn't loose anything.

The key to doing large water changes is making sure the temperature of the water you are adding is very close to the same as what is already in the tank and be careful not to stir up the sand bed.

I am not suggesting anything as drastic as what I had to do, but I would not be afraid to do a 50% water change every day for a couple days. Heck that is my normal water change.
