what are you using for p04 testing now? it is heaps better than a kit, but if yuo have the extra $150 better getting the meter over the checker IMO.

Sonny, I like what you did to the tank. I think it just looks like more LPS now because they were not trimmed back like the SPS were. Once the new frags grow in it will give the tank a whole new look. Also, it was filling up,you either had to do something like this or start looking to a new tank, already!

Sunny...any chance on getting a shot from back a bit further to show the whole tank?
I'm trying to get ideas on ph placement to keep the cleanest look.
TIA!

sunny ive read through your threads and i must say im inspired. I am going to try a bacteria tank, dont worry ill go slow and watch it grow!!

Sonny, it was great meeting you today! The corals look great. I wish I had more time to sit and talk, but hopefully this fall I'll get a chance to get over your way and visit with you and Jim. Once again thanks for the frags! Oh and good luck with the new project ;).

Hi Sonny I just saw pictures of your tank in my new Marine Depot catalog (page 14-15)

I just looked at it...its almost the same picture, just mirrored on both pages. I find it funny that we all know Sonny uses T5's, but its in the MH section of the catalog.

Did MD pay to use the pictures?

Yeah, thats my tank. :D I didn't really care for the pics they used but oh well. I was promised the cover of the Marine Depot catalog but none of my pictures were high res enough for it. :(

So how much can I buy his setup for? Adding it to my shopping cart now :D

:p

It was great meeting you to buddy! The strawberry fields was still growing back the tips when you got it from me, so in a couple weeks the red tips should pop!

Yeah, I found it strange that they used it on the MH page as well. :hmm3:

Any new pics of the setup following the last changes? How long do you think it'll take to regrow to what it was?
One last question comparing a ULNS with a system without any bacteria and Vodka dosing do you think that there will be other difference than better coral colors in the ULNS? how about growth do you think it'll be faster in a system with some nutrients?
Should be starting my upgrade build and will have place for a couple of "experimental systems" in the fishroom or basement so might be adding one tank to experiment with as finally a LFS here will be getting the complete Brightwell Aquatic range including MB7.....

Well I chopped up my reef quite a bit recently. I was bored with my tank so I did some major chopping and rescaping. Most of the corals are now pretty small but it will be fun to watch it all grow back. At least until the new tank is setup. :D :D

Pics don't work :(

Yeah, I took them down on account of me rescaping the tank these past few days.

It took me two days but I finally rescaped the tank to my liking. this was no minor change, I took EVERYTHING out of the tank and redesigned it. I took out at least 1/4 of the rocks and added many new corals. I had to frag down all of my colonies in order to rescape but I couldn't be happier with the result. Its going to be a busy summer so I opted not to get into a larger tank, for now. ;)

I ended up making 3 islands of rock work, with a very open layout. The tank may not look all that spectacular at the moment, but once the corals have grown a bit it will look great. Anyways, ill be sure to have some pictures up as soon as the dust settles.

Can't wait to see the new design Sunny..

How do you find the powerbrites with the T5's, are they powerful enough to give good shimmer when all your lights are on?

Cheers

Mike
