Your tank would be a perfect candidate for T5. I'm sure you don't want that big canopy hanging over your tank forever. And did I mention that this unit puts out no heat!
not to mention energy saving from 5.5 watt / gal to 3.78 watt/ gal!

not to mention energy saving from 1220 watt to 378 watt! about 1/4 power consumption!

Yea, im loving my "greener" tank. I replaced my Sequence DART return pump with an Ehiem 1260 that only draws 60W, plus NO micro bubbles.

With lighting I went from 1280W and lots of heat, to 378W and no heat with the new T5's!

Yea, and now I can turn off the 2 dehumidifiers I had running because of the fans I had running to cool the old tank.

Looking great. After seeing your previous TOTM, I have no doubt your new set up will be just as nice or nicer in due time. Love that rimless tank. Nice job.

This is exactly why I will go with T5s from now on. (Unless I get a huge tank). I am running 8x24w T5s over my 60 g cube (24" x 3), which is probably a little overkill, but it was either that or a 250w MH. I love having the option of changing the spectrum (adding a bluer bulb, procolor, blue+) whenever I feel the need to change it up a bit. I am at 196w and my whole tank is flooded with light.

Sonny the tank is really coming along great. I like your approach to a more minimalist rock work tank. I also love the colors of your clam. It looks like it will be another fabulous tank by SunnyX.

Thanks JR. :D
I really tried to take the minimalist approach to the entire setup. I wanted it to be as simple as possible while looking clean and streamlined. I also plan on keeping my coral growth in check and not letting it get too crazy. Too many tanks nowadays are jam packed with corals and look more like fruit stands then reefs.

Less is more sometimes. :D

you know guys, I have a problem with you showing pics of your tanks. now i can't get it out of my head about rimless tanks thanks to you, sunnyx and 143gadgets. I'm really itching to get one myself but i just started my 90 gal only 7 months ago and the better half would probably kill me if i started another. well i'm just waiting to see how your tanks are going to turn out but i'd say it's already looking good. man i envious!

143gadgets and sunnyx. trust me, i've subscribed to both of your threads! i definitely see TOTM possibilities there! we just need time for maturity.

Just do it man! Pick up the phone and order yourself a nice, shiny new rimless tank. :D

With the rimless and starphire my fish look like flying candy. :D

I forgot to mention that I swapped out an Aquablue Special for an ATi Pro Color. The Pro Color highlights colors quite well and gives the tank a slightly more purple look.

The combo is like this now:

Front

Aquablue Special
Aquablue Special
Blue+
Pro Color
Blue+
Aquablue Special
Blue+

Great looking tank Sonny!

How do you keep the display looking so clear?
I can't see a trace of micro-bubbles or cloudiness!
