I wasn't looking to change anything either....But my LFS carries BW stuff and prodibio can get expensive when you have a lot of water volume.

I hear you on that. With the uncertainty in our economy, the less I spend on my tank and the more I save the better. :D ;)

Hi Sonny,

Did you get the rockwork on the island fixed the way you like after the rock-slide? Did the clam or any corals get damaged in the mishap?

I ended up moving some corals around on the left side, and i also placed the clam towards the back. Thankfully the rock slide was minor and nothing was hurt.

Its going to take me a few days to get used to the new look.

Well, just a quick update.

I will be adding a few corals today from a local reefer here in Michigan:

ORA Pearl berry
ORA Red Planet
ORA Blue Voodoo
Elias stag
Purple Bonsai
ORA Turquoise stag
ORA Aussie Delicate

He also as some nice ATL pieces, but don't think I have room for them. Ill have to see them first. If they catch my fancy I may give in and buy them :p :

ATL's Pink Tulip Acro
ATL's Strawberry Fields
ATL X-mas Mirabillis

Now, its nice to get new corals but it stick having to move stuff around and find some spots for them. These will more than likely be the last corals I add to the tank. After adding them I will let the tank go into cruise control and watch everything grow.

Of course, pictures will follow. :p

Honestly I think ORA is a little more pricy.

That's why I wait until the hype wears off and get them for a 1/4-1/2 of the cost from a local reefer. :D Some frags are not as large as "store bought" frags, and some are larger, but I have no problems getting small frags and letting them grow out.

I try and get most my corals locally so we can support our hobbies. Eventually you build up a good enough trade network that you no longer have to buy coral, only trade them. :D

I also try and get all of my reef supplies locally because I need them around for when I'm bored. :p

Well, I picked up the corals listed above along with a Chips acro and a super hairy Tenius. They look great!

Sonny, you going to wait a bit before pics are posted? Can't wait to see the new pieces.

I'm going to try and get some today if I get a chance. At work now and then have school at 6PM so not much time in between to do stuff.

I looked at the frags this morning and they all have great nighttime polyp extension. I dosed a vial of Prodibio Reefboaster before heading out this morning as some of my corals have been looking a little on the pale side.

I am very happy with the new corals. I picked up 9 of them, between 1-2" in size each for a great price compared to the market. Hopefully in a few months they will start to grow out well.

For now, I am not touching or adding ANYTHING to the tank at least until this summer so everything can grow out.

I'm going to try and stay away from the LFS and frag swaps, but you know how that goes. :p

Hello,

I am now using :
3xati blue+
4xati aquablue special

wow... really? only 3 blue plus?? and 4 aquablue specials... I would have thought it would be more white using that many aquablues.... and that color with NO fiji purple or anything else??? I had no idea............what do you use as your dawn/dusk?

thanks!

I'm using the same bulb combo as Sunny, it's absolutely stunning!!! Amazing colors, even my ORA Rose Mili is popping a beautiful fluorescent pink with the lights. My ORA Orange digi is popping in the light combo!

Thanks again Sunny. You can get more details in the Aquactinics forum under Sponsors.

I got the idea from the reefers out in Europe. Many nice tanks out there strictly run only ATI Blue+ and ATI Aquablue Special. It is the perfect color combo. ;)

Hey Sunny, you've been running the T5s for a while now, you're still happy with the results? I have a 6x54w T5 fixture on my 75 (3x10k and 3xactinics). My bulbs are ~6 months old and I really don't like the color so I'm considering replacing them, I like the color in your pics, I'm sure it's even better in person. You still running the aquablue+ aquablue special combo? Would you recommend anything different based on your results?
