sony dsc f707

i have a sony dsc f707 and am having alot of trouble taking close up shots of my tank, also i m having trouble taking pics when the actinics are on, my flash keeps going off and cant get the glowing effect because the flash makes it look like daylight, anybody have this camera or have any pointers

I have used one in the past. It sounds like you are using the green rectangle mode. Try shooting in P mode, you can turn off the flash this way.
