Is this dangerous? Should I remove it? Is it dead? Is it alive?
Is it going to burst and destroy everything?

These corals can puff up like that and move around on there own if they want to. So what your seeing is nothing to be too concerned about IMO. Just keep an eye on it though. Plate corals are not exactly one of the easiest corals to keep.

How big is your tank? What kind of lights do you have? How long has it been set up? What exactly are your parameters?

Thanx cloak for your answer.
My tank is 180 gallons, 7 months old. Readings are all zero. Me-hi lamps. Lots of fish in the tank. I have thriving eufilias but some other corals are failing. This particular coral has been in the tank for 2 months now.
It has changed color , now it has these fluorescent green lines over it.
I don't know if it is alive or dead. I saw this cyst today - I keep constant watch over the tank.
I'm worried about it bursting and releasing all sorts of toxic chemicals to the tank.
That why I really need some help!

What is your alkalinity, calcium & magnesium readings?

I think it's ok. It could look a hell of a lot worse. If you haven't already, you might want to try feeding it something. Maybe place a few pellets or a small piece of shrimp on it's mouth and see what happens. You may have to cut a 2 liter soda bottle in half though to keep the fish from stealing the food. GL.

I have too few corals, so my levels should be ok, -I only have 4 corals in the tank. I change water every 15 days and the readings show that consumption is neglible. I have to say that it is the change in coloration that added to my worries. The cyst came a few days later. How could I tell if it was dead?
