Soulpatch's 150 SC build

I'm using one of my own. I found a walkthrough on how to setup 2 different virtual outlets to control pump speed, and forward or reverse.

Always up for dinner and drinks! When it gets closer we'll have to plan meeting up, with reef hopefully.

This is the virtual outlet for speed, of course I have profiles setup for the Gyre_Sp_D, and Gyre_Sp_N:

If Time 07:00 to 19:00 Then Gyre_Sp_D
If Time 19:00 to 07:00 Then Gyre_SP_N
If Output Export = ON Then Gyre_Export
If FeedA 000 Then Gyre_feed

Then this is the virtual outlet for forward or reverse, again profiles setup for Gyre_Dir_D, and Gyre_Dir_N

If Time 07:00 to 19:00 Then Gyre_Dir_D
If Time 19:00 to 07:00 Then Gyre_Dir_N
If FeedA 000 Then OFF

All the outlet does for direction is if it's off, one way, then if the outlet is on, it spins the other direction. I forget now what actually makes it spin in either direction, but something in the programming tells it to spin one way, then the other if the outlet is off or on.

You do realize that the error margin for the KH director is nearly same as the ALK tester from Hanna?

KH director margin of error .01
Hanna DKH checker margin of error is .03

I've become solely reliable on my hanna. Between the Hanna and salifert, they both come pretty close to each other. Just curious as to why you think the hanna is "crap"?

That is their reported error but do a few tests back to back and see that the error rate is MUCH higher with Hanna. Plus when compared to 3 other brands it was horribly off. I went through 3 different regents with them and tons of time on phone to solve. My unit was returned and they said it was fine. Yeah no go for me.

If you have one that works then you are one of the few. Tons of reports on them being crap. I went the risk route thinking people couldn't follow the procedure or something but turns out I was in same boat. I would literally get a 3 dkh swing in back to back tests. Yeah no go for me.

Plus I only get a single test whenever I do it. I literally turn on the kh and get up to 24 tests a day. Currently have it set for 3 though. This allows me to see swings in consumption for the tank or if my calrx needs adjusted.

Strat - a lot... I have 4 t5 and a radion xr15pro hanging on the frag tank. A lot of my higher end acros relish the high par for full color. I might actually have to built a sort of shaded area for anything else I put into the tank.

Curious though as the PPM ALK checker is +5 or 5%, where the DKH checker only has a .03 margin of error. Which did you have?

And I have done back to back tests multiple times, they pretty much come up the same number within the margin of error(If I get an 8, the next test might be 7.8 or 8.3). Not enough to cause me concern.

Got kg director dialed in this weekend. Still need to do true calibration to some dkh calibration fluid I have but it matches red sea and salifert now.

Gyre 330 is dialed in as well.

Had to lower lights on frag tank some as I was washing out sps. Might need to lower more but we shall see how things progress.

So I have not been testing tank recently till I got kh director (laziness is main reason I got it) and here my alk was hovering around 10!!! Wow. Here my ph probe in calrx needed calibrated again and was melting my media. In fixing that and reloading media I decided to clean out my vertex calrx.

In cleaning it i couldn't get the POS pump to connect to the one fitting. Vertex decided to be aholes and mount a weird fitting instead of a normal union. So new o ring and a good amount of silicone grease and its finally back in order after a day messing with it.

On other pain in behind news I got in the kamour pump but a tiny fitting was busted and as such I cant set it up till fixed. Send pics to BRS so hopefully quickly rectified so I can swap pumps.

Also thinking of moving this thread to the other forum for more traction. I get pinged a lot on FB by other SCA customers who all seemingly are on r2r....

I find myself spending more and more time over there. It's just sooooo dead around here anymore. Some threads go for days before it gets answered or even looked at.

To be honest I only follow a few threads with this being one of them because of the interaction and knowledge.

Blown away you are still around here.

I'll grab some pics or video this weekend

Still here! Still have my tank but hoping to upgrade to a 45 soon. I'm taking things really slow this time around. Haven't had any casualties as of yet but I'm glad I'm still in the hobby.

Some pics today and I'll take better ones later after cleaning up but lights were on and caught my eye.

Add the kamour yesterday as well and replembed a reactor
