Sound Level of Skimmers?

I have a 75G tank that I will have in my living room. I will be using an Emporer 400 HOB filter. I am planning on getting the Coralife SuperSkimmer. At first I though I would get the 65G size, but I have read and many have told me to get the biggest skimmer possible that I can fit behind my tank. I have not set the tank up yet so it can be moved. So I have decided to get either the 125G or 220G version. But before I go for the 220, do skimmers make alot of noise? I don't want something that is going to be very distracting. If it operates around the sound level of my filter that would be fine. Also, does anyone know the flow rates of these skimmers? I have looked everywhere but can't find them. Thanks!!

I have an Aqua-C skimmer and it's just about silent.

When you ask about the flow rates for skimmers, you can just call the vendors like www.marinedepot.com and they'll tell you which waterpumps are compatable with the skimmer you're interested in.

My AquaC EV-120 is silent paired with a Rio 2100 pump. Only noise I get is some air being drawn in. I might experiment with a resonating chamber or other silencer since it sits next to the tank. Underneith it'd be better.

lakee...my Aqua-C EV-180 is plumbed on the side of the tank and makes no noise at all. Could it be that all you need to do is make a siphon-break?

I like the remora a lot. But it is all I know and it is on the loud side! We close the door to my "office" room at night (where the tank is) to keep things quieter for sleeping. This is acually motivating me to set up a sump.

Cheers,
B
