Sound like a good idea?

I know clams love light, but how much is enough - can you give them too much? I was thinking about 2x250 DE 10k MH and 4 actinic T5s over a 72 gallon bow front. Is this overkill? Or am I going to have some happy clams??:strooper:

Agreed...clams can tolerate a LOT more light than that (and LOVE it!)

They should love it. I'm installing dual 400's on my 75 tomorrow. I'll make a thread about that. Tried out one... awesome.

Sounds like pretty decent lighting. Until recently I kept all my clams under 400W but I have had a few under 150W 50K recently and have limited success. The clams do ok but they lack the amazing colours that they display under more intense light.

I don't think there is such a thing as too much light for a clam....
