Neat. Is that latest ORA piece? I haven't seen that one yet. I would start it out low and slowly move it up, but not too high. Depending on what lights you have. It looks like you already have it up

Live aquaria has TCN aquacultured version called Gatorade birdnest...great pieces.

$80? That's not a great price, that's a rip off. I've stopped ordering coral from them a long time ago because of their prices (not to mention their ridiculous shipping fees). Ever get hit with 2 shipping fees from them? Wow.

Oops! I think I just vented. :fun2:

I never said prices, PIECES. I agree, their shipping does get crazy.

theyre happier in gentler flow. Judging from the acro and coraline algae you have, you should have a good chance of keeping it healthy.

Ive been seeing those sour apples popping up lately. They look nice!

I'll have to take a picture of the acro but since i got it, well actually before i got it it wasent doing so great. So your saying why did i buy it and the best answer I can give is because I got it really cheap and really didnt know too much about what I was getting into. When I got it there was some browning on the piece, which was explained to me as lack of light. So I bought it, and put it in the tank within a day or two i noticed one of the (branches)??? turning white, then a few more days went by and now the white part is also brown. The piece never really perked up at all, some parts its brown other parts its still got color. As far as lighting goes I have it under 6 54w T5'S, on a 55 gallon tank. I have it close to the top hoping it will get the light that it needs I also feed phyto feast 3 times a week. As flow goes i have 2 koralia 3's, and 1 koralia 1 running, and mag 9.5 return pump from sump, all flow is indirect. Is this a common thing with acros? The birdsnest seems to be doing great tho, it looks all fuzzy today.

I also think its a FHI coral, but im not positive where he (lfs) got it from.

Easiest way to tell is the circle on the bottom of the frag 'rock'. I like FHI for this reason. They're aquacultured, easy to spot, and the frag mount looks more natural. Good piece! :)

Just give it time to adjust to your lights and tank parameters. If it is brown then it should recover in time. Very good starter sps. cool colors on that one too~!

Anybody confirm this thing yet? I've seen many pics of FHI's Sour Apple Birdnest and this doesn't look like any of them. But it is a very nice piece. Wish I had one.
