For the first time in my reefing life, I'm so fed up with Aptasia and Majano. I've had them b4 and they never multiply, but now they're appearing exponentially. My tank is getting crowded and I need those pest OUT NOW!.

Elite speaks the truth, except Joe's Juice includes table salt as well. Randy found the patent papers and had a post a few weeks ago in the Chemistry Forum, settling the mystery about what is in the stuff once and for all. No definitive answer as to the reason for the salt, though.

The salt is to make the recipe a little more original to pass the patent? :lol:

hmmm..... I've injected kalk directly into my xenia before with no effect. I'll have to try adding the salt.

It's basically just ketchup, mayonaise and relish. I doubt anyone is going to stop going there now.

Here's an update for you guys.

Yesterday I dumped 3 teaspoon of Kent Kalk mix and 1 teaspoon of salt (just because that was part of the ingredient) :lol: into a small cup of RODI water and mixed well. Used my Kent squirt tool and blast right into the mouth of all visible apt. and Maj. I have not seen them all day today. I think it's safe to say that it worked.
