sparks, smoke and fire from my ballast...need help

no, I ordered it on my own...
Have you heard anything about it.....the wiring is safer and the ballast seemed comparable to the ice-cap 660.....

sexy, I got that aro kit or at least one similar to it. got it off EBAY. price was good, and I really liked the way the ballast plugged into the wiring harness. it has a multipin connector that takes all 16 wires for the 4 bulb setup and gets them into a plug to make it EXTREMELY easy to unplug the harness to either replace the ballast or take the hood off. all wires and endcaps were labeled and installation was Cake!

Many have said that the ARO's give a slightly pinkish hue to the lights, and I did notice it at first but a few days later, I could not tell. I upgraded form 220wt pc to 440wt vho. Balast makes no noise and is warm to the touch or about the same temp as the genx pump I have. it als has a nifty little switch on the top for turning it off instead of having to force the timer off or unplug it.

awsome! thanks pickupman! I should be getting the aro this friday.....I'm going to try to fit the retro fit kit onto the wooden skeleton the lights were on originally because it'll fit the aquarium top perfectly!

I must have gottent he bare bones ARO. I don't think mine have the switch or disconnects... Oh well...

Sexy, I mounted mine on wood strips on the underside of my hood. the strips are truly for support to keep it from bowing. here is a good shot of the endcaps.

and a mostly overall of how it looks at one end.

thanks! Actually, the one I am getting has a reflector too....so I am going to see how to mount that onto a wood skeleton....

I did get the stuff but UPS kinda bent it up pretty bad and the company is sending me another one which I should be getting mon or tuesday!

Moon linghts are from AC. Got them in frustratin with the tank, and I gotta admit, the BLUE RULZ!!!!! Sorry to hear UPS did not treat you right. Oh well. I am waiting on some stuff from Ebay, and paypal gave the wrong shipping address to the shipper. so it all went to the old house. hopefully USPS will get it here soon..
