Spawning montipora

Not sure, but I believe I witnessed my monti spawning. I noticed all my monti in my tank last night had white mucus stringing from it. Has anybody else ever seen this happen?

Mine does it if it is irritated. Either being out of water, a water change where the temp is colder than tank or if i have touched the edges of it for some reason.

Did you do anything with the tank?

No, I didn't do anything. I wasn't home all day. Thought it was weird that all my monti was doing that at the same time.

Did you happen to get alot of microbubbles?

Hmm. I don't know then. Spawning in the home aquaria wouldn't be good. From what I have read it looks like pearling coming off the monti, then it fouls your tank.

If you really think it is spawning i would do a water change and make sure you skimmer is running.

I don't think they are, what you are describing i have seen my monti's do when something irritates them. Looks like strings all around the edges floating but still attatched to the monti?
