New to clams and I picked this one up about a month ago while snorkeling here in Okinawa. It's about 2 inches and has done really well in my 10g nano. Was wondering what kind it is and should I have it in the sand or up on the rocks. It was in rock in about 5 feet of water when I got it. I have it resting on a oyster shell in the sand currently (not sure if it has attached). Tons of them here with lots of different colors and patterns. The locals eat them- sashimi style.

crocea, they like really strong light so up on the rocks may be better but in a 10G how much higher can he go :)

I wouldnt rule out blue maxima. Any more pictures of the shell? In either case, similar requirements to a crocea, so higher in the rocks would be a good thing.
