Specific Gravity Acclimation

Just wanted to make sure everyone check the difference in SG when acclimating their new specimen, I dripped acclimated a fish and was a little surprised to find the SG at 1.030 (refractometer). Not a bad thing, but just in case your tank has 1.023 or something on the low side. :)

It is generally a good thing to test SG with refractometer to make sure your tank water and acclimation water match before putting in a new specimen. Dr. F&S have them for sale if I recall correctly. A refractometer is one of your most important tools.
