I just installed 2 new Spectra membranes and ran then for well over an hour and I am get 22 ppm out of them. I not impressed I hope they will get better as the DOW FilmTec that I had in there would give me a 3 to 5 ppm reading and from what I understand these even being the reg. are supposed to be better.

Something is wrong. I've used spectrapure cartridges and mebranes for years and they are by far the best.

Did you flush the membrane and allow the TDS to drop before putting the downstread cartridges back in? I'm assuming this is a 99% rejection membrane and not the carbon, sediment or DI cartridges?? When in doubt, call spectrapure. Their support is terrific. The only other possiblity is if you put the membrane in backwards. FWIW, the RO membranes have a shelf life and need to be stored in a cool place. Mine are stored in the fridge.

I just put old ones back. I took a closer look a the spectra and noticed they are soft you can squeeze the, they seem to be rolled very loose. I have never seen membranes like this before but I have never had Spectra's before. I guess these will be going back.

Which mebranes did you get? Are these the RO membranes? The ones you want are 99% rejection ones and I can tell as will anybody else that the Spectrapure 99% membranes are the best RO membanes hands down. If that's what you got, then you either did something wrong or you got them from a source that sold you expired membranes.

I just the regular 98% but have seen many posts where Spectrapure said that there 98 are better then any of the other, and if I need to get the 99% see a difference then I will stay with the Dow FilmTec because the 99% ones up here are $75 each and up seen them as high as $99.

Don't forget guys we have the same (functionally) high rejection tested/treated membranes at Buckeye Hydro - our MAXR membranes.
