Spectrapure Refurb?

Thinking of buying a spectrapure 90gpd refurb, anybody used these?

If you buy refurb, how long do the cartridges/membrane last?

I just want to know if its quality equipment or a hunk of junk.

The refurb is all new parts. These are called refurbs because of the cosmetic defects in some. The functionality of the system remains the same as a new system. Rather than returning parts that have a cosmetic defects in them, we wanted to create a low cost system that we wouldn't want to sell as a full priced unit.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

Looking at a spectrapure 90, can I mount on my garage wall and use the spicket off my water softener? How long does it take for 5 gallons or so? I guess you just monitor to prevent overflow eh? I want to save money and make my own sw and topoff.

I purchased one of these refurbs and it looks brand new and I can not notice any defects. Definitely worth the $$.

Slammed01,

You can mount it on the wall ,and you can use the garden hose. I would suggest not having it in the light though. The rate at which 5 gallon swill fill depends on your PSI and water temp.

Also will it remove any chlorine or chloramines? If not I can always add prime or somethin. Is the tds meter easy to hook up?

It does remove Chlorine, but if you want chloramine protection we have a single bare stage and a chloramine removal cart that you can use IF you get a TDS meter get the TRM1. It will allow you to see tap, RO, and DI; to whereas, with the DM1 you can only see the RO, and DI tds.

Awesome thank you! One last question, do you sell the float autos hit off valves I can mount in my brute 18g can? If so, how do those hook up? Plan on storing ro/di and siphoning/mixing 5-10g salt as needed and siphoning top off water out as well.
