Spending too much on your reef?

lol Serra. "At Sea Life Munich, the sharks did not show any reaction to Britney Spears..." LOL!!!!!!
Surprised they weren't jumpin' out of the tank to get away from the tune!

Ya know, I love the freshwater fish just as much as the next hobbyist, but I've yet to see any arowana's that I felt were worth that kind of money. I guess they figure if they can afford a tank large enough to house one than maybe they can fork out the oodles to buy one. Geeze!!!!

Cweber never say never. One day you'll walk into a LFS and see something you can't do without and BAM! Either that or you'll do like i did. Istarted out thinking 20 bucks for a yellow tang was high. Then i started looking and buying and slowly the amount I would allow myself to pay creeped up. I stopped by Aquariums on the way home frome school prepared to pay 60 for a regal tang but they were being QT'd.

I agree with jkhudson. Do yourself a favor and either get a piggy bank or a seperate bank account and start setting aside a little bit every pay check. You will pay more than $50 for something. Maybe not a fish, but it might be a coral you like. You'll definitely be happy that you had some money stashed back :D

Are you could get really bad like me and get a dedicated pre-paid VISA stricly for you hobby purchases. :D. Every time i look at the bill I laugh, fish from here, fish from there, coral here, light fixture there....and every blue moon....a coke.

LOL papagimp. Im trying real hard to not rack one up. I could max out a card on a sweet system and pay $20 the rest of my life. Then pass it on to the kids when im gone. hehe

That's why mine is a pre-paid visa, lol, I had the same scare. I give me and jess a weekly "allowance" to put on this card. Of course after we max it out we always seem to find a few extra bucks in the wallet to spend too. Worst addiction I've ever had, and by far the best!

There's a Chinese food place at Council and NW Highway that has a couple of the Asian variety in their atrium.
