hello i need help, my spider sponge is dying i dont know why, any of you guys have experience? it haven't touch the air i have it for 4 months.

DT'S live marine phytopankthon every other day.
Where is the dying part? Sponge or zoanthids?
Zoanthids can be feed by the larger food, like frozen Reef Plankton or dried Cyclop eeze. For a sponge, as I had read, the dissolved organics and the live phytoplankton should work.
I have this sponge, for a short time too. Had die-off of the sponge at the base (too much strain, resisting flow). Removed the dead part, inserted base in the hole in the rock added some superglue gel.
Had die-off on contact with hard to reach and eliminate aiptasia. Nothing I could do about it, but the main body of the sponge still unaffected.
Zoanthids are open and eating, as long as the food is present in the water (the tank is fed several times a a day).
High to medium flow. No physical contact with other corals.

thanks guys.... the dying parts on the top. i just trim it last week but still dying i feed phytho plankthon every other day... i'll try it every day.
do i have tur off the pump & power heads??

feeding dt's is basically worthless imo I don't believe anyone knows forsure what it eats. I'd try shellfish diet and roti feast if it were mine.

Most non photo creatures need flow to grab the tiny particles. I would leave all power heads on. I would also try to feed 3 times per day, once in morning, once when you get home from work and once when lights are out.
From my experience and from others that have tested this, most non photo corals don't eat dt's for some reason, they grab it and release it.
