spits out white substance

I have this problem with a tridacna. it spits otu from its siphon this white thick substance which later on dissolves in the aquarium. It does it quiet often during the day. What it dies is it closes it siphon it seems like its blowing up and then it sharply closes spiting out the substance. i have had it about a month or so. Does anyone know if this a problem or something normal.

It's spawning. Check your parameters and see what's goin on there. Something is making the clam unhappy.

Givin if it is spawining frequently then i would expect to see high nitrates unless you have supreme filtration. May i ask how big it is and how bout some pics, try and get the behavior?

Do clams often spawn in the daylight?
