Split RBTA? Help

I have had the original RBTA for around 9 months. When i first got it within 2-3 months it split into 2. It was a good size before it split maybe about 5 inches in diameter. As time went on both Anemones got pretty large (I fee around once a week a silverside each). I woke up the other day after noticing the Anemones looking pretty messed up to discover that BOTH split. So now i have 4 RBTA's. My RBTA for whatever reason do not bubble anymore and there is plenty of light since i keep a few Crocea clams and they are A OK. Should i take this as a sign of happiness? I know everyone has thier own opinion on why RBTA's split but mine seem to never move and always eat so i assume they are pretty healthy. They just dont bubble up. Is it normal for RBTA to reproduce this fast or am i just lucky?

I dont know the correct answer but I always took it as a sign that they were not happy but idk. Im curious to see what others say about this..

They usually split if they are stressed, but I have had one split in optimum conditions as well. Whats the temperature and rest of the tank params?

If it's one of the greenish/w pink tipped Bubbles ....they seem to split like crazy. I had 2 and they split and split and split even after I stopped feeding them.

If it is a true RBTA, then I would say stress. I've had mine for about 2 years ...and it's splitting ...but only because of an accidental lighting change ( vacation fish-sitter flipped 3 T5 reflectors so they were facing up).

hey Rick , I'd say the "split fest" was probably caused by a slight change in parameters. Could be temperature, salinity, lighting, or one of the others. One of mine split after a slight temp. spike (+5 degrees above norm.) ---->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzfZDjcyMd4 It also could be a completely different reason....

One thing I thought was that silversides weren't the best for feeding anemones. There's been a few threads on here about it. I feed mine a cube of mysis or "marine cuisine" once every week.

About the bubbling of the tentacles, I don't think anyone knows what makes them do that.

Water params have been stable for some time now. They are true Rose Bubble tips

SG 1.025
PH 8.1
Alk-7
Calcium-460ppm
Po4-.03
Nitrate- 2ppm
Mag 1350ppm
Temp 78

when they split last time they healed quick and fed without an issue. I may change up the food then. i have mysis and marine cusine as well. I usually let them do thier thing and dont bother them much

Yeah I have one with a green bottom orange bubbles with pink Tips and it split on me but they are both health and happy

I have been wishing for a split. I have two huge bta's 8-10 inches across and another that's 5-6 and one white with pink tips bta. (he was exploring caves for a couple months) I had as many as 9 with zero splits. I don't wanna sell them I want my tank to get taken over. Maybe I should use reverse psychology. "I don't want them to split. It sux":-P
