split rbta questions?

So I bought a flame rbta on Sunday and it looked great then Tuesday I thought it was dying only to later learn that it split. So between now and Tuesday I have seen both inflate then deflate? Is that normal? Water is fine, I know they move a lot when first introduces but I figured they did that while inflated. Am I wrong and do that while deflated? Any advice would be great!

Water is fine is not telling us anything. If a BTA splits soon after introduction to a new tank means that it is stressed. List all params.
