Splitting Anemone!!

Yay.
So I've had my BTA a while.
It's realllllly small, as compared to my nice big brown sebae that i rescued from being died pink [it won't split -_-"]

Anyways.
It's a fluorescent GBTA and i'll have pics soon. It is bleached, but it's been recovering, as we had to rescue it too.

Very sad though... i only have one clown now. (one careless ich strike took out 8 of my fish - about $300 worth.)

Are there any extra steps i should be taking to help it recover from splitting or anything you guys want to share/ask? Thanks.

Well it took a lot of TLC.
A syringe (with no needle)
Mysis, a while without the pumps on, and good conditions.
As for lighting... I hate to say it but people here tend to exaggerate. My sebae has recovered all it's zooanthellae, from NONE to being very brown. Not that you shouldn't have good lights, mine are PC and very good. I just don't think getting all that thousands of dollars of MH lighting and such has a point.

But anywho... it was dyed pink at a LFS, and we got it for $30. Max size was about 4-5 inches, now it gets to about almost a foot when expanded.

Caring for a sebae just relies on making sure you can have a stable system IME. (it also didn't sting) so persistent feeding [not necessarily super-often] is necessary. It's recovered all the nematocysts and eats easily and accepts any food (including asterinas ;0)

Oh and by the way... my mini-BTA's are about 3 inches each expanded :)

^ trying to raise your post count, eh?
well anyways... Just found out... the two anemones aren't separating yet so i'll hafta see what they do.. I just hope they can heal well.

dont feed it and let it heal a little. You will know when its ready to feed but probably be a week or 2 before its all fully healed up.

I got 2 sebaes coming once they show up i'll post up pics with my new clarkiis. Be here probably friday but its got like a yellow tinge to it but doesnt look dyed but will be better when i see it. Has that cream colored beige tinge. Be ebtter to see with my own eyes although hopefully not dyed and just bleached!

Oh well i've heard some stuff about the yellowy ones.
Keep us updated and we'll see then :)
Thanks for the help.
still working on those pictures haha but they're moving apart now.

if they take a bit longer to split....just cut them with a clean razor blade, you could even cut it now if you wanna speed it up, sometimes it can take a week my first split took forever so i just cut it and healed up in a week later maybe week and a half. So its up to you what you wanna do? Cut it and speed it up, or let it naturally do it
