Splurged at Diver's Den

Well, I just bit the bullet and purchased a Vanautu Flame Angel from Divers Den at Live Aquaria.

The colors were outstanding.

Wish me luck.

Just bought a Coral Beauty myself. I was pondering one of these two for a while and finally saw a CB Angel really cheap at a LFS I never go to. How much did you pay for that awesome fish?

I have that same guy- mine does very well in my reef. Probably one of my shyest fish. a real beauty though.

Tiger flames are super sweet! I receive them from christmas from time to time. I had a few PRs of them a while back. Really neat compared to the regular flames. IME, this is the best coloring in order from location

I have not seen many from Fiji or Tahiti so i have no comparison with those. Marshalls and cooks tend to be more orange in the mid section. Hawaii is usually a vibrant red (true hawaiian) christmas is also very nice. Good luck!

Well he arrived healty and was eating within two minutes of being in the tank. He's still kinda shy if I'm near the tank. He's the king of the tank tho.... he ran the maroons out of their home. He made a racetrack right thru their home. He goes in a big circle thru the rocks and then reverses the exact same course. Then repeats.

I tried a flame angel in my reef and it was a nightmare. It was alright for the first 2 months, but after that it started eating pretty much every coral in the tank. Started with the xenias, the moved on to all the leathers, even tried eating the frogspawn and zoas. And getting it out was incredibly tough. But I finally did and sold it back to the LFS. Beautiful fish otherwise but I will never buy another one for a reef tank.
