Spoiled Clowns with Internal Parasites

So, my clowns have an internal parasite. Lolling about, strings of feces. I know where they got it but that's not the issue. I put them in quarantine with Praziquantel. They refuse to eat and they pace the glass. Even their usual Rod's food, they won't touch. So, this morning I put them back into the display, shut down the Koralia's and feed. They eat like pigs. Obviously, they hate the quarantine tank.
I am going to have to treat the entire 50G tank with Prazi. Here is my question, I went onto Hikari USA to look at what it kills and what it doesn't kill. The only thing it said is not to use with feather duster's and the like. So, what about my blood shrimp, porcelain crabs, hermits? Are they going to make it thru? I've also got frogspawns, duncans, various mushrooms, some Hydnophora (sps), a bubble tip anemone and tons of zoas, snails up the kazoo.

If this stuff kills off the bristle worms and the brittle stars, then I WILL have an ammonia spike. Gwyn, do you know the particulars on this medication? :bounce3:
Thanks,
L.

Praziquantel is primarily effective against trematodes and cestodes, even animals that we think of as 'worms' that are outside those two classes are not generally heavily effected by it.

I have used it in reef tanks with frogspawn, mushrooms, acans, chalices, ricordea, cleaner shrimp and assorted snails with no problems other than my mushrooms being a tad shriveled for about 24 hours. I had quite a few feather dusters in the tank and while they lost their crowns, they didn't die. It did not seem to effect my bristleworms or any of the micro stars that I had either. I did not have any SPS, zoas, or crabs, but lots of other people have used prazi in their tanks and I have not heard of any problems. I don't think you should expect to lose any of your ornamental inverts and I'd be pretty surprised if you had a large ammonia spike.

Make sure to dose for the actual amount of water you have, not for the entire amount the tank would hold if it only had water in it and no rock or sand. Shake the bottle VERY well!

Gwyn,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. You have really saved me a lot of time, made my day, week and month. I was preparing to fish out all my invertibrates for this task, but I think i'll just take out the one SPS frag and the bubble polyps and leave everything else.
Thank you again, hope to see you in Orlando next year at MACNA:bounce3:
