Sponge between polyps

I have a decent sized (half inch across?) chunk of what looks and feels to be white sponge growing smack dab in the middle of one of my favorite zoa frags.

Why do I get all the zoa problems?? Anyway - should I leave it be and hope something will come around and eat it, or should I tweeze it?

If it is a sponge and if you don't want it...
Remove the rock or frag from the tank.
Grab the sponge with tweezers and remove every bit of it from the colony, cleaning well.
Make sure polyps are closed and rinse the colony with fresh tap water just for like 10 seconds.
Make sure there are no remaining sponge fragments.
Return to the system.

Grandis..

I just did what you suggested, Grandis - thank you. I tweezed and rinsed in tap water, then back into the tank. I thought I'd be able to leave it be but it was growing up over the top of the zoa colony, taller than the zoas. Sigh, I'm noticing that its everywhere. Great filter feeder, not so great in the middle of my colonies.
