Sponge on my colony

I was preparing to frag my colony of zoos and I noticed this thing growing on the back side. Whats the best way to get rid of it or should I just frag all of the zoos off of the main rock?

Fresh water dip or air it out.. sponges do not like fresh water and they do not like air. Either of those should kill it.

Just a few minutes.. no more than 5 say. It will not destroy it immediately, it will take awhile for it to dissolve etc. You might try fingers too to work it loose in some places.

I'd scalpel off what you can (out of the tank) before you dip or expose for a few minutes. Even cut under those zoos and remove.

Its in my QT tank now, I will try to pick it apart while I freshwater dip it.

Dipped it for 3 min and pulled as much sponge off as I could. Looks a little rough right now hopefully it will recover soon.

I'd pull off whatever you can to save from something rotting in the midst of your zoo's. JMO though.
