Sponges ......

... sponges ... and more sponges each week. Do these things take over a tank? I thought it was cool when I saw one white and one flourescent yellow sponge, but now I worry as it appears they can reproduce VERY fast. Each one is still pretty small but there are small ones starting to grow all over now.

they shouldn't be a problem. just one of the live rock hangers on that makes tanks coo.

Ok. They do look cool, but I just figured that something that multiplies like that is usually bad. Thats one thing less to worry about. Thanks.

a bright light will stop the yellow and white sponges they are low light sponges.

Yeah I just spent like 40 bucks for zoevit's pohl sponge power to feed mine . Ive never heard of them taking over a tank but Ive got tons in my tank all different colors bright blue neon yellow, pink, white, and orange they dont seem to light a hole lot of light so you souldnt have a problem.,

I just recieved this months copy of Coral Magazine, there is an article on sponges as filters in the aquarium that is very interesting reading, you might check it out.
Kermits carries the magazine if you don,t get it.
