Spore release?

I know this isn't the right board, but its the only one I really participate in.

Today, as I was watching TV, i noticed that my tank was so cloudy i couldn't see through to the opposite side. It was the color of milk. There were also tons greenish spheres about 2-4 mm in diameter, which the fish were eating. My feeling is that something released a ton of spores.

I have an anemone, some green star polyp, some yellow polyp and some zooanthid.

The anemone had looked a little strange all day (kind of like half closed, but the color looked very rich). After the event, the anemone was completely deflated - not sure if in response to the water conditions or if it was the cause.

I think it was probablly the green star polyp as they also looked funny (like they had a bigger center than normal).

My questions are:
1. Has anyone experienced this before?
2. Is this most likely just a sign that whatever it is is happy, or a response to trauma (like, we better reproduce because we're on our way out...)
3. Do anemone's release spores or only reproduce by budding?
4. I cranked up my skimmer and it's like someone added dish soap. I also mixed up some saltwater to do a large water change, but it's not ready yet. Is this a concern (do i need to rush the water change before the water has had a chance to stabalize?)

I would rush the water change before the water has had a chance to stabalize. I run my water 1hr thin put in the tanks

so i've done 2 water changes and the water looks clear again (after heavy skimming). I guess I'm out of the woods...

no, i just filtered them out.

THe spores won't do anything by themselves, will they? I thought they had to be fertilized......I am probablly wrong though.
