Spotted box with sea horses. banded pipe and Bangii Cardinals

i have a 30 species tank with the above fish and was considering a spotted box addition. I am thinking it wont work since i believe the boxes can be fin nippers for slower moving fish. Your thoughts?

In addition, how about a small Marine Betta? Horses are medium size, cardinals are medium size, pipe is 6 inckes. Pipe is primary worry since he is skinny- but long.

absotely do not put him in with seahorses. Just doing five minutes of research i found out that he should be housed in at least a 40 gallon (not sure what size you have), he is venemous, and he is semi agressive. also the Bangii Cardinals are also semi agressive so i really suggest not having them in with your seahores. And finally are the seahorses tank bred and the pipefish wc (like most are)? If so your running a large chance of spreading disease.

yes, i to have reserached it with mixed results. From absolutely not reef safe and aggressive to "i have had one in my reef for years with no problems and hes a pussycat". I was looking for actual experiences someone may have had.

You are correct regarding the pipefish. All are wild caught and my horses are captive bred ORA. Its a gamble that has worked for me. The pipe and horses have been togther for 8 months and all are healthy, eating, and active

I beg to differ on the Bangaii's. Couldnt keep them in my main 300 reef because they were too passive. They are still very passive in the horse tank. As a matter of fact, numerous thread discussions come to the same conclusion that theyare perfect sea horse companions (not dwarfs).

I am a long ways from putting a box in the mix. Just thought i would inquire.

Thank you for the input.

tank size is probably too small- 30 gallon. The catch is that its water volume is 600 gallons as its part of my overall system. Bettas are such slow moving, inactive fish- thought a 30 might work.

like i said i wasnt to sure about the cardinal. The boxer will have such little room though in that sized tank. HOPEFULLY your seahorse tank is not kept the same as a reef tank, temperature should not be pushing above 74, current should be much lower. so i would not say "well people keep them in their reef tank so they'll do okay in a seahores tank", it sounds like a very large gamble.

Most people that are dedicated to their horses keep very few other fish mixed in with them i've learned.
