spotted sweetlips?

Has anyone in urs kept one to adulthood.

The info I am coming up with varries greatly from only living a few days in captivity to growing to 29 inches in captivity.

with tank sizes ranging from 150 - 500 gals

Mine is eating mysis & table shrimp out of our hands I have had him for about a month.

I know this fish is not reefsafe. I have him in a 75 frag tank which gives him lots of room to swim for now. He will soon be the sole fish in the tank.

I've seen them grown to full size in aquariums.

Strangely tho, The Georgia Aquarium had a juvie in their mega reef.

I think they're reef safe as long as no other fish in the tank can be gulped.

I have had my Sweetlips for about 3 years now. He's about 6 in and still growing. Eats everything but flakes. Loves beefheart.

I think the main reason they are not considered reef safe is because they eat inverts.
