Spray paints

I just finished doing construction on my canopy top. I have added a fan and drill some hole for better ventilation for the lights. I need to paint it. Can any one tell me if it's ok to use Rust-Oleum wood spray paint and if so is it safe since it will be covering the tank top?

yes that would be safe. Heck cured rustoleum is safe in the water as well. Ive used it in the past too paint plexiglass black for an overspill. no worries;)

I have a pvc overflow installed in my 10gal that i painted with Krylon Fusion paint. Like redox said once its cured It is safe to use.

Just a tip. You may want to put a coat or two of polyurethane on top of the paint. It will make your paint last longer from the exposure of salt spray. They make a Matt finish that is duller.
