Spring Swap: State College, April 18, 2009

I am soooooo looking forward to this. I tried drilling and using fiberglass rods and it didn't turn out too well. I ended up just stacking the rest of the tank. Maybe watching someone will inspire me to try again.

Scott Fellman was nice enough to send me a current pic for our flyer. The flyer is updated with his new pic.
I also got Scott's bio...so without further ado.....

"My name is Scott Fellman, and I’m the consummate reef geek! I bleed saltwater! Much of my life centers around tweaking my protein skimmer, scraping algae, cleaning spills, or figuring out how to unglue my fingers. I’ve been keeping saltwater aquariums since I was 12 years old. I love this hobby and the people in it!

I’ve mentored fellow hobbyists since 2002 on Bob Fenner’s WetWebMedia.com site, and I was Co-Editor of WWM’s Conscientious Aquarist online magazine. I’ve written several articles for Freshwater and Marine Aquarium Magazine, “C” Journal, and other online venues.

In addition to speaking at clubs throughout the country, I am past President of my local club, the Marine Aquarium Society of Los Angeles County, present at MACNA XIX in Pittsburgh, IMAC 2008 in Chicago, MACNA XX in Atlanta, and will be speaking at MACNA in Atlantic City. I have spoken at many clubs throughout the nation. I’m really trying to complete a book on marine biotope aquaria and aquascaping before this century is over!

When I’m not trying to replicate the ocean in my aquarium, I’m usually surfing at my local beach-my other obsession. I reside in the Los Angeles area."

Thanks Scott :)

As I look over the list in preparing to post signs at the swap, it looks like only a couple of table spots (#19, #16) have been reserved. There will be plenty of table space at the swap. If you'd still like to request a specific spot, please post here and also email me at sbennett@psu.edu in addition to Rick.

The swap officially begins at 10. For those of you setting up tanks and getting to town early, we will have the doors open at 9, and probably will be set for early registration between 9 and 9:30.

Thanks!

Another raffle item: Scott Fellman has arranged to have some Marco Rock shipped in for his demo, and will be donating the leftovers to the raffle.

Yes, there will be guided (as well as unguided) tours of the Penn State 500G reef aquarium.
