sps 1250 gallon system

Andrew, what do you have in the CC? Your sand bed looks so clean. I had a big HA problem, so I pulled all my rock, and have so called been cooking it. ( in tubs in the dark for a couple months) I have the algae beat in the tank, but I still see a little green on some of the gravel bed. I have read snails, cucumbers, crabs? What keeps your sand so clean.---Rick

had my share of cyno issues in past and still get red light brown coating on it but for most part been ok . I have some cucumbers but i think they do nada and typical crabs etc i have one sand sifting goby that i really want out cause he digs and is a pain in the ***. i di notice my clown sweetlips taking lots of sand in mouth and spitting out ,but for most part just crazy flow . flow so bad that it hard to put the alevapora and elegence near sand cause its too windy for them to open up . i keep that vortex pump sort of low on one side and let it hit the low corals and there is a slight hint of sand blowing and moving at the very top level

Andrew, thanks for the input. My skimmer is a AE TECH ETSS 1400. I don't know i your familiar with it, but it is a good skimmer. My carbon is BRS's . I just took it off line because I'm experimenting with vinegar dosing. I really have no load on my tank right now, and I want to get the tank dialed in before I put the rock back in. My system is about 650 gals.

Hey cuban reef. 4 luminerarc reflectors cut on top with air fans with 1 400 w radium and 1 400w reeflux 12k in each reflector so 800 watts in each. Then in between each reflector we have 4 t5s blues and fiji purple along with another single 400 w reeflux12k Total of 11 400 watt bulbs. Also 2 vho actinics and 455 blue on both the front and back of tank. Did i explain that ok?

plenty of people think that im nuts with bulb mixing i have tried so many combos of bulbs . generally here are the bulbs i work with

reeflux 12 and 20
ushio 10 and 14
radium 20
just tried new aquastar 14 and deep blue 20k
aquaconnect 14k
xm 10k

and from what i have been able to put together this combo i have in works for color and growth and when i try others for most part i cant stand the white look or i bleach coral from all the light .. i have also ntried more radiums and less reeflux 12k and got some crazy bleeching also

man your tank is absolutely phenomenal. ranks up there with jawsee.

will the conspic and blueline go in the big DT tank?

the videos are impressive, but i think you can get someone to come volunteer to shoot your
tank for free. make a professional-like video that would be out of this world.

Thx geaux xman. I plan on doing that. Really it was a tough decision to even do this ... I have been incognito on reef central for so long. Anyway. Its done. Ill get a pro instead of a blackberry video. On the conspic and blueline well i tried already. Conspic was in there. He tasted the elegance and clams and some sps. Interestingly he doesnt do that in my 80 gallon breeder. The blueline im too nervous. As it is, my regal and majestic are not well behaved in the dt. I cant keep acans and some skollys

Attaboy. The humidity is what it is. The basement is huge and central air is cranked all the time. Its very cold down there anyway cause of the gym. Im sure the equipment room is humid but there is nothing in there but 4 walls and we keep window open.
Flow. A ton. Main pump is very strong and comes out of about 4 goosenecks. In addition there is a closed loop pump under tank with electronic ball valve set on every 10 mins to switch sides in tank from seperate pvc returns in the tank. I have to keep these cranked down cause corals would get blown if i dont. Also i use 2 seperate sea swirls on the two ends and front of tank that rotate 90 degrees each. And then we use 2 votrexs mp 60 s on the side glass. One low one high, basically two thirds strength but the random setting not full throttle. We think yellow or blue setting.

Thanks for the reply, your tank is brillant!

How do you reach to the bottom when your tank is 42" deep, tongs?

Did you mention the brand of skimmers you use?
