sps and compact lighting

ok, I am new to this and my husband isn't very successful keeping sps, he has tons of tanks and does well with almost all other corals but his sps aren't growing well... soooo.....I stole two of his little ones and put them in my little tank, 10gallon. my question is that I only have compact lighting...will they live? My tank is mainlined into all our other tanks so I dont' take care of any of the water parameters, I just throw corals and fish into my tank. Be nice...my husband wont' let me mess with anything tank or tank water related. I tried to attach pictures, but I will have to mess with the camera, my computer isn't recognizing it....grrrrr darn kids....I'll try to post pics later but any newbie advice would be nice.

SPS can live under compact fluorescent lighting. Just don't expect them to grow very quickly. The color will also probably more drab than if they were under a stronger light source.

Get them as close as you can to the light. Montis will do better than acros. Make sure the little ones are not purple monster frags.

Thanks!! They are orangish brown in color so I didn't expect too much color anyways, just thought I would see how they did in my tank versus them dying in his big tank!

I have them up as high in the tank I they can go, umm... maybe two or three inches from the top of the tank... plus that little nano powerhead pointed right straight at them.
