SPS and Faithfully Feeding

I was just curious as to how many reefers feed their sps faithfully and how often. I feed my tank once a night; sometimes a second time in the morning using rotifers in Selcon or a friends homemade food (Fishgeeksrus). I am able to keep low nutrients with a weekly water change and Prodibio. I am amazed at how aggressively my corals feed and how programed they get to opening up fully when it is feeding time. My goal is to see if I can give them enough nitrogen to spawn.

Anyway, does anyone else feed that much or am I just mad!

I feed oyster eggs every night...unless I forget or whatever. So almost every night. It makes a difference for me...but I have 2 fish...so I dont' have much poop

I feed Roti-Feast (rotifers) and Arcti-Pods (copepods) nightly. If I end up with an extra order of live rotifers, my system gets a late afternoon feeding of them. That's typically 600K per 60g of tank, which is an awful lot of rotifers :D You can't barely see thru the haze theres so many

And like Justin ^ I only have a few fish (3).

How often do you guys do water changes? Also, what kind of lighting do you use? I have four fish, but all very small (2 chromis each are the size of a dime). Do you see much faster growth spurts?

Usually weekly water changes, 14g on a 70ish system. The system is two 30g tanks and a 10g fuge. The fuge has a few T5's on it, nothing fancy. Each 30g has 2x 65w actinic PC and 150w DE 50KK MH's on Icecap ballasts. I definitly saw a growth spurt when I first started this heavy of feedings about 2 years ago.

I feed Roti-Feast and Arcti-Pods daily too. Find them amazing.
Arcti Pods are for my anthias and some smaller fishes. Where else roti-feast is for my sps and other LPS. I find that it makes a big different not only my anthias colour is brighter, some of my sps tips are colouring up which i previously didnt see it. Osyter eggs is another good product but find the price too steep. Affortable and good with shown result are both roti-feast and arcti pods.

I feed a little phyto a few times a week. It helps the clams and feeds to copepods, etc. in the dsb - which feed the corals. I also feed freshly hatched brine once in a while at night.

Where do you buy Roti-Feast?

You dont have to if you are dosing roti feast because it will hell stop your skimmer from skimming for a while.

You may not have any skimmate being produced, but the rotifers will adhere to the micro-bubbles, if they're sucked into the skimmer. Even though skimming is suppressed (by the fatty acids), I still highly recommend you turn it off, or turn your air intake off for a spell.
