Automation my friend Simple 1/4"-1/2" solinoid on the skimmer air input, on a timer, would be suffice
Magma, I'd say your best bet it to kill the air. Save the wear and tare on your pumps for stuff like water changes Just crimp the air input tube.

Then you have better start thinking automation on your return pumps too. Turning on and off frequently??? Bet you will have another problem soon.
To me, it doesnt matter much on shutting down your skimmer and return pumps while feeding. How much can it affect yoru wastage of your valuable feed? Think about such daily chore.. :strooper:

Provided most can afford. Money can buy everything, including employing a maid to feed your fish too.
That is awesome i must say. my friend. Good work. I hope your pumps can stand your daily affair.

I think if you seriously dont have time to turn off a skimmer at night and remove a sponge...you are in the wrong hobby. It takes time and effort. If you dont want to put forth the effort...just keep sea monkeys or something.
