I was give two montipora about thee weeks ago. I would like to know if anyone has ever had any luck with them under pc lighting. I know someone is going to tell me about how you can't keep sps under pc. But they look great and you see growth since I put them in. Oh by the way I have 2 130watt 10000k/6500k and 2 130watt 420nm/460nm atinics.

Thanks Greg

yes

yes

IF YOU KEEP YOU WATER PARAMETERS GOOD " """"" i have a 10 gallon 130watt coralife pc's ocer my tank and it kept and grew real slow emerald green encrusting montipora and orange montipora cap. the growth wasnt huge but there was some. I now bought a 175 watt mh electronic ballast with a cheap atinic for under 200 bucks. i use the 10,000k xm bulbs and the growth is unreal recently that i have seen. but to answer your ? the answer is yes to those 2 kinds. but acropora and other stuff needs that intense lighting.

I also have an acro that has been in there for about 6 months , it have grown some and still looks nice.

That's plenty of light for Montis, and even for most Acros.
My 75g mixed reef only has 240 watts of regular NO fluorescent lighting, and the monti caps and digis look ok, IMHO.

I get a ton of growth on my monti cap ... it has added probably 14 square inces of new growth in the past 14 weeks. Not bad if you ask me.

mine is about the size of a pringles chip, I hope it grows fast. Oh yea how many gph??? I have about 1200gph

Make sure you keep on top of lamp changes and you can do it if the coral are higher up in the tank. I'd be changing the PC's out around the 6 month mark.
