I dont think the water change % effects the coral negatively at all as long as the water is within proper SPS paramaters. Wouldnt you consider bringing a new frag home and placing it in your tank a 100% water change?
I do 10% a week....but you can do 100% every single day as long as the new water matches the existing water 100%. I would not advise this but 100% water changes do not hurt a system at all (if ALL parameters match) I have done 100% water changes on my tanks when moving locations with no problems at all....
I have a 95-100 gallon system and do 8 Liters a day (2.113 Gallons) using my LiterMeter III with the water exchange module. At 100 gallons that's 2.11% a day and 14.79% a week. With the LMIII it does this 150 times throughout the day so it makes for the most stable changes possible....Really slick system!
If parameters are the same you should be able to do as much as you want, even 50% or 100%. If the alk, cal, temp and salinity are the same why would it matter?
If suppose if you had nutrient issues a drastic drop could cause stress.
